2022 ~ Team Hamtastic Glory { Our Instagram }
Our team is bursting with mechanical minds and award winning artists. Co-Team Captain, Lush Newton was voted Best Artist in Humboldt County. She recently became the owner of The Art Center along with Co-Team Captain, Malia Matsumoto, who holds the title Extreme Ultimate Supreme Craft Master.
Newton and Matsumoto have been racing since 2002 and 2009, respectively and learned the tricks of the trade racing with Kinetic legends June Moxon and Ken Beidleman. Co-Team Captain, Mike Burford has been pit crew in six Kinetic Sculpture Races. He has built his own CNC router and aluminum foundry from scratch.
In 2018 Hamtastic Glory was born. The inaugural race theme was Hunka Hunka Burninin’ Ham, 2019 Blue Hawaii Kahlua Pork, 2022 K-HAM: The Sounds of Glory and 2023 Dr. Teeths & The Electric May-Ham. The Hamtastic Glory Headquarters are at the Kinetic Sculpture Lab and the machine is a single pilot frame designed by Ken Beidleman.
It takes a lot of people to make this magic happen and the team is comprised of HA Pearson, Lexie Perez, Sarah McKinney, Janessa Johnsonrude, Clif Huntzinger, Alex Kennefik, Tibora Girczyc-Blum, Gina Tuzzi, Patti Johson, Paul Johnson, Ronnie Chausse, Jesse Allen & Heather Ballinger.
